Augmented reality is an emerging trend in spine surgery and has been growing quickly over the past year.
Here are 11 spine surgeons who started using AR-assisted technology over the past 12 months:

1. Justin Bundy, MD. Dr. Bundy performed the first AR-assisted spine surgery in Georgia at Augusta-based Doctor's Hospital, according to a March 4 report.
2. Brent Kimball, MD. Dr. Kimball used AR technology to perform two spine surgeries at Lone Tree, Colo.-based Sky Ridge Medical Center.
3. Mazda Farshad, MD. Dr. Farshad performed the first spine surgery using Microsoft's HoloLens 2 headset in December at Balgrist University Hospital in Zurich.
4. Jonathan Hyde, MD. Dr. Hyde completed the first two AR-assisted spine surgeries at Aventura (Fla.) Hospital, according to a Nov. 2 report.
5. Michael Wang, MD. Dr. Wang performed an AR-assisted complex scoliosis procedure on a 71-year-old Oct. 16 at UHealth Tower in Miami.
6. Christopher Good, MD. Dr. Good used Augmedics' Xvision Spine System in a successful two and a half-hour surgery at Reston (Va.) Hospital Center, according to an Oct. 20 report.
7. John Keller, MD. Dr. Keller performed the first AR-assisted spine procedure Sept. 21 at Wyoming, Mich.-based Metro Health.
8. James Lynch, MD. Dr. Lynch performed a spine procedure at Reno, Nev.-based Renown Regional Medical Center with Augmedics' Xvision, according to a July 2 report.
9. Daniel Sciubba, MD, and Timothy Witham, MD. Dr. Sciubba and Dr. Witham used Augmedics' Xvision in two spine surgeries at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine in June.
10. Frank Phillips, MD. Dr. Phillips performed an AR-assisted spine surgery at Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush June 15.
