1. Jason Toy, MD, of Austin-based Orthopedic Associates of Central Texas, introduced the Nexxt Spine Matrixx lateral interbody system.
2. Joel Siegal, MD, performed the first procedure with Orthofix's 3D-printed implant for posterior lumbar interbody fusions.
3. John-Erik Bell, MD, helped develop Medacta's NextAR shoulder replacement technology and performed the first surgery with the technology at Lebanon N.H.-based Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health.
4. Casey Davidson, MD, performed the Southeast region's first surgery with NuVasive's Modulus ALIF 3D-printed titanium implant.
5. Mark McFarland, DO, performed the first kyphoplasty with Stryker's SpineJack system in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia.
