Juan Uribe, MD, division chief of spinal disorders at Phoenix-based Barrow Neurological Institute, was named as an adviser for Aclarion, the medtech company said Dec. 19.
Dr. Uribe will advise as a key opinion leader and support Aclarion's work with addressing chronic lower back pain, according to a news release. At Barrow Neurological Institute, he is also a professor and vice chair of neurosurgery.
"I have dedicated my life to alleviating the pain and suffering associated with spinal disorders," he said in the release. "Low back pain is an extremely debilitating condition that lacks a noninvasive tool capable of improving diagnostic accuracy. I look forward to helping Aclarion bring Nociscan to standard-of-care so the millions of patients suffering from chronic low back pain worldwide can benefit from a more accurate diagnosis."
John Keller, MD, and Sigurd Berven, MD, were named as advisers in October.
