Roanoke, Va.-based Carilion Clinic named the chair and vice president of its new neurosurgery department, the Cardinal News reported May 2.
John Jane Jr., MD, will be chief of the department. He comes from UVA Health in Charlottesvile, Va. where he specializes in pituitary tumors and minimally invasive brain surgery.
Mark Miller, who is vice president of orthopedics at Carilion Clinic, will also serve as vice president of the neurosurgery department.
The new neurosurgery department was created as demand for neurological services increased in recent years.
