Duke University has announced Benjamin A. Alman, MD, will be the new chair of orthopedic surgery. Dr. Alman is currently the A.J. Latner Professor and chair of orthopedics at the University of Toronto. He will assume his new position in June, with David Attarian, MD, serving as interim chair of the department until then.
Dr. Alman has a professional interest in spinal deformity and neuromuscular disorders. His research has earned him several awards throughout his career, and he currently serves as senior scientists in the Research Instituteas Developmental and Stem Cell Biology Program at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
