Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Conn., formally opened The Spine Institute of Connecticut at Saint Francis.
Here are five things to know about the Spine Institute:
1. The Spine Institute offers minimally invasive surgical techniques for chronic and acute spinal disorders. Patients with more complex issues, such as scoliosis, are also treated at the Institute.
2. Orthopedists and neurosurgeons team to provide care at the center. Services also include pain management, physical therapy, occupational therapy and rehabilitation. There is individualized case management and specialists are able to communicate with each other to provide complete and cost-effective care.
3. Orthopedic spine surgeon David Kruger, MD, and neurosurgeon Howard Lantner, MD, are medical directors of The Spine Institute. Aris Yannopoulos, MD, is the Director of Reserach.
4. Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center also includes services in joint replacement, emergency medicine, cardiovascular care and behavioral health.
