The International Spine Intervention Society awarded its lifetime achievement award last week during the society's annual meeting in Orlando, according to a Healio report.
Charles Aprill, MD, received the first ISIS Lifetime Achievement Award and the recognition will be named after him going forward. Dr. Aprill is a founding member of ISIS and sits on its board of directors. He is a radiologist in Kenner, La., where he moved after Hurricane Katrina forced him to leave the original practice he founded in 1993.
Dr. Aprill also spent time in the United States Naval Active Reserves and has more than 30 years of experience in the spine community.
