George Washington University honors Dr. Elad Levy alumni achievement award: 5 highlights

Board-certified neurosurgeon Elad I. Levy, MD, was honored alongside other alumni at George Washington University's 79th annual Alumni Achievement Awards, according to GW Today.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. Dr. Levy is a professor and chair of the department of neurosurgery at State University of New York at Buffalo.

 

2. He co-authored a New England Journal of Medicine paper outlining support for treating stroke patients with clot-busting drugs and a wire mesh stent device. 

 

3. He is one of the youngest tenured professors in the SUNY system to date.  

 

4. Dr. Levy completed a neurosurgical residency at the University of Pittsburgh and an endovascular surgery fellowship at State University of New York at Buffalo.

 

5. The award is presented to alumni who "distinguished themselves through notable achievements in their professional and personal lives."
