Drs. Kirk Clifford and James Gebhard to join Community Hospital, establish orthopedic spine surgery program: 5 things to know

Kirk Clifford, MD, and James Gebhard, MD, will join Community Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo., where they will start an orthopedic spine surgery program, according to The Business Times.

 Here are five things to know.

 

1. Drs. Clifford and Gebhard expect to launch Western Colorado Spine in May.

 

2. Dr. Clifford received his medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn. He underwent orthopedic and neurosurgical spine fellowship training at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

 

3. Dr. Gebhard received his medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine. He completed a National Institutes of Health orthopedic research fellowship, underwent spine surgery fellowship training at Lakewood (Colo.) Orthopaedic Clinic and completed a spine surgery preceptorship at Kantonspital St. Gallen in Switzerland.

 

4. Both physicians are currently employed at Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates in Grand Junction.

 

5. Adding orthopedic spine surgery to the list of Community Hospital's service lines and surgical specialties has been a priority for the hospital, according to president and CEO Chris Thomas. Community Hospital has partnered with an increasing number of physicians in recent years.
