Christopher M. Bono, MD, will be the fourth editor in chief of The Spine Journal.
Here are six highlights:
1. Dr. Bono will replace Eugene J. Carragee, MD, in December 2018.
2. The first issue under Dr. Bono will publish January 2019.
3. Dr. Bono serves as the head of the spine division at Boston-based Brigham and Women's Hospital. He also is co-director of the Massachusetts General Hospital-Brigham and Women's Hospital orthopedic spine surgery fellowship, and is co-director of BWH Comprehensive Spine Center.
4. He previously served as deputy editor for The Spine Journal and Journal of the Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has authored 140-plus peer-reviewed publications and co-authored around 100 book chapters.
5. Dr. Bono served as the North American Spine Society board of directors' president from 2015 to 2016.
6. He completed his spine surgery fellowship at UCSD in San Diego.
