During the North American Spine Society Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, Sept. 26-29, the professional organization presented three research grants and one traveling fellowship to investigators and physicians.
The clinical travelling fellowship spans at least one month at three to five different medical centers to study spine techniques.
The winners for the grants and fellowship are:
· Young investigator — Basic grant ($50,000): Aaron Fields, PhD
· Basic grant ($49,910): Anthony Windebank, MD
· Basic grant ($39,600): Jeremy Mercuri, PhD
· Clinical traveling fellowship ($7,220): Akram Eltayib Mohamad Nasr, MBBS
Dr. Nasr will be traveling to Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York City and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas during his fellowship.
