Vacant specialty hospital to reopen as pain, spine center — 3 insights

Spine

El Paso (Texas) Specialty Hospital will reopen as a spine and pain hospital, according to El Paso Inc.

Three insights:

1. The orthopedic-focused hospital abruptly shuttered in December 2018 due to financial and operational challenges. It was owned by physicians in the El Paso Specialty Group.

2. The now-vacant facility will be reopened by El Paso-based The Hospitals of Providence, which is affiliated with Tenet Healthcare.

3. The new spine and pain hospital will be El Paso's first.
