Tennessee neurosurgeons debut new MIS device for cervical spinal fusion

Two neurosurgeons from Tennessee recently debuted a new cervical spinal fusion procedure that seeks to shorten hospital stays and allows patients to recover quicker, according to the Memphis Business Journal.

Three things to know:

1. The Corus system was developed by Pleasanton, Calif.-based Providence Medical Technology.

2. A spine surgeon at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis performed the first procedure with the device the first week of February.

3. Chiu Yuen To, DO, a neurosurgeon with Saint Francis Medical Partners in Memphis, performed the second procedure a few hours later.
