Spine surgeon Peter Derman, MD, of Plano-based Texas Back Institute recently completed the first procedure with the E3 MIS pedicle screw system.
Developed by DeGen Medical, the E3 MIS pedicle screw system is designed to improve placement of posterior instrumentation by percutaneous means.
The device features a low-profile screw tower, a rod passing device and a counter torque that engages within rather than on the outside of the towers.
Dr. Derman performed the procedure at Texas Health Center for Diagnostics and Surgery in Plano.
