Here are five spine and neurosurgeons making headlines this week:

Daniel Sciubba, MD, of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, performed the first tumor resection with a new augmented reality system from Augmedics, an AR surgical image guidance startup.

Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush surgeon Frank Phillips, MD, also performed a minimally invasive spine surgery with the Augmedics AR system.

Pierce Nunley, MD, completed the first procedure in a clinical trial examining the efficacy of a posterior cervical stabilization system in patients with three-level degenerative disc disease.

Springfield (Ohio) Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine will onboard Domingo Molina, MD, Aug 1.

Jordan Glaser, MD, joined Southeastern Orthopedics in Lumberton, N.C.
