Spine surgeon's medical credential app launches in New York

Spine

Mocingbird, a medical credential app designed for busy healthcare providers, is now available to download in New York.

The cloud-based software was developed by Ian Madom, MD, a spine surgeon with Ortho Rhode Island in East Greenwich, and George Fernaine, MD, chief of cardiology at NYU Brooklyn in New York City.

"Burnout is a very real problem in the medical field," Dr. Madom said in a Nov. 10 news release. "We realized that we can change healthcare more effectively through entrepreneurship rather than working within the system."

The app, available for Android and Apple devices, seeks to save providers time by managing maintenance of certification and continuing medical education requirements and allowing them to take courses on mobile devices.

Administrators can track and store education credits from providers and ensure they stay up to date and compliant on all certification and education requirements.
