5 spine surgeons stepping into leadership roles

Over the past month, Becker's has reported on five spine and neurosurgeons who were named to leadership positions:

1. Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai appointed David Skaggs, MD, co-director of its spine center, director of the pediatrics program and executive vice chair of the department of orthopedics.

2. Isador Lieberman, MD, was appointed to the medical advisory committee of intraoperative neuromonitoring services company Assure Holdings.

3. Samuel Cho, MD, was named as director of the Mount Sinai West Spine Center, a new project that is being planned in New York City.

4. Amandeep Bhalla, MD, was appointed director of the Spine Center at MemorialCare's Long Beach (Calif.) Medical Center.

5. Wayne State University in Detroit named Sonia Eden, MD, interim chair of its neurosurgery department.
