Vijay Yanamadala, MD, was named chief medical officer of Sword Health, a virtual musculoskeletal care platform.
Dr. Yanamadala is a neurosurgeon with expertise in treating spine conditions including scoliosis, spinal vascular disease and trauma, according to a Feb. 10 news release. At Sword Health, he will lead the clinical affairs team.
In October, he became the first surgeon to perform an awake spinal fusion in New England.
Sword Health was founded in 2015, and its digital therapies are designed to help patients manage pain at home, the release said.
