Englewood (N.J.) Health named its chief of neurosurgery and three other updates that took place in the last 30 days:

1. Renton-based Providence Health & Services Washington agreed to pay $22.7 million to resolve allegations it defrauded federal healthcare programs with medically unnecessary neurosurgery procedures.

2. The University of New Mexico-Albuquerque's neurosurgery department regained accreditation for its residency program after a previous version lost accreditation in June 2020 due to concerns about residents' learning and working environment, faculty and leadership turnover, an imbalance between service and surgical education and low operative case volumes in certain areas.

3. Kee Kim, MD, chief of spinal neurosurgery at Sacramento, Calif.-based UC Davis Health, completed his 100th spine procedure using Globus Medical's ExcelsiusGPS robot.

4. Kevin Yao, MD, was named the new chief of neurosurgery at Englewood Health.
