2 Brooklyn Nets stars have orthopedic surgery

The Brooklyn Nets had two of its athletes undergo orthopedic surgeries in May.

Robert Watkins IV, MD, on May 5 performed spine surgery on Brooklyn Nets forward Ben Simmons at Cedars-Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital in Los Angeles. He performed a microdiscectomy to address a herniated disc in Mr. Simmons' lower back.


Seth Curry had arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle. Martin O'Malley, MD, the team's foot and ankle specialist, performed the procedure at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery, the report said. Mr. Curry had been dealing with soreness in his left ankle since January.
