Spine surgeon and entrepreneur Steven Cyr, MD, published a book about the American healthcare system.
The book, Cutthroat: A Surgeon's Fight against Big Government, Corrupt Businessmen, and a Broken Healthcare System, shares Dr. Cyr's personal experiences navigating challenges in his practice, according to a May 24 news release. He discusses the financial, legal and regulatory pressures physicians face in the business world.
Dr. Cyr is chief medical officer for SASpine and CyrRx MD, a skincare line. He has worked as chief of spine surgery for the U.S. Air Force and consultant to the USAF Surgeon General.
