The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine has appointed Michael Archdeacon, MD, board-certified orthopedic surgeon, as chair of the department of orthopedics, according to a Cincinnati Business Courier report.
Dr. Archdeacon holds several leadership roles with the University of Cincinnati. He has served as medical director since 2002 and as vice chair of the orthopedics department since 2007. He also currently serves as the medical director of operative services.
Dr. Archdeacon served as the interim department chair since August, after Peter Stern, MD, stepped down after his 21 years of heading the department.
As he steps into the role of department chair, Dr. Archdeacon will now hold the Dr. Peter J. Stern Endowed Chair of Orthopedic Surgery.
