Here are seven orthopedic surgeons who have treated or will be treating professional athletes.

David Altchek, MD, successfully performed season-ending knee surgery on Sacramento Kings forward Carl Landry.

 

He also performed "Tommy John" surgery on Minnesota Twins top prospect Miguel Sano and will perform elbow surgery on Pittsburgh Pirates' top pitching prospect Jameson Taillon.

 

Robert B. Anderson, MD, successfully performed ankle surgery on Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.

 

James Andrews, MD, performed elbow surgery on Arizona Diamondbacks left-hander Patrick Corbin.

 

Neal ElAttrache, MD, performed elbow surgery on Washington Nationals reliever Erik Davis.

 

He will also perform knee surgery on ultimate fighting champion Georges St. Pierre and "Tommy John" surgery on Kansas City Royals pitcher Luke Hochevar.

 

Martin O'Malley, MD, successfully performed ankle surgery on Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez.

 

Charles Rich, MD, successfully performed spine surgery on golfer Tiger Woods.

 

Steve Traina, MD, performed knee surgery for Nugget Forward J.J. Hickson at Midtown Surgical Center in Denver.
