Rajesh Makim, MD, FAAOS, a sports medicine specialist at Orthopedic Associates in Port Huron, Mich., was named team physician for the American Youth Soccer Organization Region 161, according to a Times Herald news report.
Dr. Makim will be available for medical consultation during practices and games. He will also present warm-up techniques, stretching and tips to prevent dehydration to league coaches.
Dr. Makim earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, where he also completed his residency in orthopedic surgery. He serves as an attending physician for area high school football teams.
