Peter Symbas, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with Southern Orthopaedic Specialists in Atlanta, was named the official sports medicine provider and team physician for the Atlanta Silverbacks, a professional men's soccer team, according to a practice news release.
Dr. Symbas earned his medical degree at Emory University in Atlanta and completed a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at The Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Ga. He is also a former soccer player at the collegiate level.
