Spinal Tech

Stryker Corp. has reported an 8 percent sales growth in their 2010 second quarter, driven by an increase in sales of orthopedic implants and acquisitions, according to a company news release.

The company's net sales increased 6.9 percent while orthopedic implants sales increased 1.4 percent. The entire net earnings increased 9.5 percent and international sales increased by 1.8 percent.

The domestic sales were up, the result of higher orthopedic implants and medical/surgical equipment shipments.

In addition to a higher product shipment, sales growth through acquisitions is also responsible for the worldwide sales increase, according to the release.
