GS Medical USA, a Soquel, Calif.-based spinal device company, released the AnyPlus T/PLIF Cage.
Here are five things to know about the AnyPlus T/PLIF Cage:
1. The cage received FDA 510(k) clearance recently, along with clearance for design modifications to the existing AnyPlus ALIF, TLIF and PLIF interbody portfolio. The company hopes to achieve another FDA clearance before the second quarter ends.
2. This is a next-generation cage with intuitive instrumentation, a tapered distal edge, anatomical design to facilitate insertion and an aggressive tooth pattern. The device also has multiple footprints and large graft fenestrations for a higher volume of bone graft to achieve favorable union outcomes.
3. GS Medical USA's Executive Vice President-Americas Joseph Jin said the company is optimistic about achieving their bottom line results and commercialization pathways look very promising for 2014.
4. The company could be the only manufacturer offering an ALIF system implant in 10 mm to 20 mm height, in 1 mm increments, along with four different footprints and as many lordic options with the AnyPlus ALIF. The system has a bi-concave design.
5. The AnyPlus T/PLIF system is currently on limited release and will fully launch in June. The company plans to launch new product segments — such as cervical spine products — in the third and fourth quarter of this year.
