Stryker reported a 7 percent sales increase to $1.768 billion and a 1.3 percent sales increase in orthopedic implants, based on higher domestic sales of hips, knees and trauma implants, according to a company news release.
The growth was larger than expected, said Stryker President and CEO Stephen P. MacMillan. The growth could be attributed to the 16.1 percent increase in worldwide sales of MedSurg Equipment.
International sales were $594 million, a 1.7 percent increase over last year. Worldwide sales of orthopedic implants were $1.029 billion, an increase of 1.2 percent.
