StabiLink MIS Interlaminar Spinal Fixation System receives honor — 5 key notes

Spinal Tech

The StabiLink MIS Interlaminar Spinal Fixation System from Southern Spine was recognized with the 18th Annual Medical Design Excellence Awards competition.

Here are five things to know:

1. The patented interlaminar spinal fixation system is placed between the spinous processes, away from the neural elements, through a two-to-four centimeter incision using the PG Precision Guided Inserter/Compressor.

2. The PG Inserter/Compressor can place the implant without removing the interspinous ligaments, and compression is achieved without needing multiple instruments. This reduces the overall procedure time.

3. The StabiLink implant was designed with a containment area for the maximum amount of bone graft material to optimize bony fixation between the spinous process.

4. The procedure promotes a reduced hospital stay compared with other more invasive procedures, as well as less operative time and blood loss.

5. This technology received the Silver Winner in the Implant and Tissue Replacement category of the awards, announced earlier this month.
