SeaSpine launches Ventura NanoMetalene spine device: 5 key points

Spinal Tech

SeaSpine launched the Ventura NanoMetalene Interbody Device.

Here are five things to know:

1. The Ventura NanoMetalene is a transforaminal intervertebral body fusion device. It is commercially available and has been successfully implanted in patients.

2. The device is indicated for use as an adjunct to fusion in patients with degenerative disc disease and builds on the company's Hollywood NanoMetalene interbody device.

3. The NanoMetalene is an ultra-thin layer of commercially pure titanium molecularly bonded to PEEK-OPTIMA implants.

4. The company collaborated with surgeon partners to create the implant, designed to use instrumentation that already exists for spinal procedures. Surgeons are able to create a secure anatomical fit with the device and Ventura NanoMetalene's large graft aperture for autogenous bone graft assists in fusion.

5. SeaSpine received FDA clearance for several other NanoMetalene coated PEEK interbody devices in its current portfolio. The company plans to launch the additional products in future periods.
