Xtant Medical will have the first surgical case of the Atrix-C Cervical Allograft Interbody Spacer.
Here are five highlights:
1. The Atrix-C Cervical Allograft Interbody Spacer is the first Xtant Medical product launched within the United States, following the combination of Bacterin International and X-spine Systems, highlighting the strategic focus on co-development product opportunities in the future.
2. The device offers surgeons a structural allograft solution for anterior cervical discectomy fusion. The implant is a precision milled cortical allograft with a central opening for placement of a preferred biologic material for fusion, such as OsteoSponge, and an anatomically shaped footprint designed to help maximize surface area for structural support.
3. Alan T. Villavicencio, MD, a neurosurgeon with the Boulder Neurosurgical and Spine Associates in Boulder, Colo., performed the first ACDF procedure utilizing the Atrix-C Cervical Allograft Interbody Spacer. The surgery was performed at Boulder Community Hospital and, according to Dr. Villavicencio, went well.
4. Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice President of Xtant Medical, David Kirschman, MD, said the Atrix-C Cervical Allograft Interbody Spacer expands the cervical product portfolio of Xtant Medical. The addition of it now offers customers a cervical allograft solution in addition to the existing Calix and Calix PC PEEK interbody spacers for the ACDF procedure.
5. The Atrix-C was developed using the combined instrumentation and expertise of X-spine and the orthobiologic expertise of Bacterin.
