Wenzel Spine's VariLift-LX on full US commercial launch: 5 key notes

Spinal Tech

Wenzel Spine has made VariLift-LX available throughout the United States with the full commercial launch.

Here are five things to know about the device:

1. VariLift-LX is the next generation of Wenzel Spine's product line of expandable stand-alone interbody fusion devices.

2. The technology is a zero-profile system with a broad portfolio of options for surgeons.

3. The technology is available in two lengths and five heights to optimize fit in the disc space. The technology has streamlined instrumentation for minimally invasive lumbar fusions.

4. Surgeons can implant and expand VariLift-LX without disengaging the instrumentation, and they can insert autograft material.

5. The technology was previously on limited release and received a strong response from surgeons. The company is moving forward with the full commercial launch.

"The LX system provides significant improvement in implant sizes and instrumentation," said David Lee, MD, president of Southern Neurologic & Spine Institute in Hattiesburg, Miss., and a limited release participant. "This new system brings and excellent clinical option of true stand-alone interbody fusion to spine surgeons."
