MiMedx files lawsuit against Osiris Therapeutics — 4 things to know

MiMedx Group has filed a lawsuit under the Lanham Act against Osiris Therapeutics for permanent injunctive relief and damages, according to Streetinsider.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. The lawsuit alleges that in an Osiris press release on May 2, the company knowingly and willfully made false and misleading representations about a retrospective database analysis review. Allegedly, Osiris used inadequate clinical study standards to produce a contrived report that intentionally misleads the public.

 

2. The suit was filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

 

3. MiMedx Group, based in Marietta, Ga., is a regenerative medicine company utilizing human amniotic tissue and patent-protected processes to develop and market advanced products and therapies for the wound care, surgical, orthopedic, spine, sports medicine, ophthalmic and dental sectors of healthcare.

 

4. Osiris Therapeutics, based in Columbia, Md., researches, develops and markets regenerative medicine products.
