Hythem P. Shadid, MD, of St. Charles, Ill.-based Genesis Orthopedics created a video highlighting the use of his customized knee implants.
Here's what you should know.
1. Dr. Shadid is using 3-D printed implants to create exact replicas of patient's knees.
2. Some of Dr. Shadid's former patients called the implants unique and felt he was "way ahead of the curve" with his treatment plan.
3. The custom implants are designed to reduce recovery, pain and surgical time.
