Thomas Scully, MD, of Tucson, Ariz.-based Northwest NeuroSpecialists, was the first surgeon in the world to perform spine surgery with Life Spine's CALYPSO Midline Retractor System.

1. Dr. Scully preformed the lumbar spine surgery on Jan. 16, 2017.

3. The system features independently angulating blades, a quick button release installer and a cable management system.
4. CALYPSO is designed for use with Life Spine's PROLIFT Expandable Spacer System.
