El Dorado Hills, Calif.-based Consensus Orthopedics is teaming up with University of Miami Health System to test the TracPatch wearable device.
Here are five notes:
1. The clinical study will examine recovery effectiveness of acute care total knee arthroplasty patients utilizing the TracPatch.
2. The TracPatch offers real-time patient monitoring during surgery recovery.
3. The wearable device relays key data points to a cloud database, which the patient and provider may view via smartphone, tablet or online.
4. The device reports range of motion, exercise compliance, ambulation and wound site temperature patterns.
5. Consensus Orthopedics will showcase the TracPatch at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons' annual meeting in San Diego, from March 15 to 17, 2017.
