Denver-based Advanced Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Specialists and Active Implants announced the first successful meniscus replacement procedures in Colorado have taken place.

1. Wayne Gersoff, MD, of Advanced Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Specialists performed the procedure.
2. Advanced Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Specialists is one of 10 sites in the U.S. enrolling patients in the SUN trial.
3. The trial assesses the safety and effectiveness of the NUsurface Meniscus Implant in restoring normal function to the knee.
4. The NUsurface implant has been used in Europe under the CE Mark since 2008 and in Israel since 2011.
