Professor Yong QIU performed China's first spinal deformity surgery using SpineGuard's PediGuard device.
Here are five highlights.
1. The PediGuard features Dynamic Surgical Guidance technology, and is designed to alert surgeons of potential pedicular or vertebral breaches.
2. Maurice Bourlion, PhD, Ciaran Bolger, MD, PhD, and Alain Vanquaethem invented the device.
3. Prof. Yong QIU serves as orthopedic surgery chairman at Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital in China.
4. He is also the president of the Chinese Scoliosis Research Society and vice-president of the Chinese Association of Orthopedic Surgeons.
5. Prof. Yong QIU's spine center is the largest scoliosis center in China, completing about 600 scoliosis cases annually.
