Exactech has expanded its reach in the foot and ankle market with the acquisition of medical device company EPIC Extremity.
Four insights:
1. EPIC Extremity designs bone and joint restoration products and biologic solutions for extremities, knees and hips. It develops screw and plating systems for the foot and ankle.
2. The company's foot and ankle reconstruction system focuses on great toe arthritis, fractures, hallux valgus deformities, and midfoot injuries in a customizable tray specific to disease states.
3. It also offers a fusion plating system for ankle arthrodesis.
4. Exactech has been distributing EPIC's reconstruction system for the past year but now has full-ownership of the product line.
