Spinal Elements is launching Katana, a new lateral access system.
Four insights:
1. Katana is designed with a nested dilator and blade that enables surgeons to gain lateral access in fewer steps and a single pass by the lumbar plexus.
2. The nested dilator and blade help keep the neural anatomy protected throughout the procedure.
3. The device aims to improve outcomes by reducing the incidence of approach-related postoperative complications.
4. Spinal Elements will showcase the Katana device at the North American Spine Society Annual Meeting in Chicago from Sept. 25 to 27.
