LimaCorporate and TechMah Medical received FDA 510(k) approval for the Smart Space Shoulder 3D Planner & 3D Positioner Dec. 9.
Four insights:
1. Smart Space is a digital system developed by TechMah Medical in collaboration with LimaCorporate, which agreed to a milestone-based acquisition of TechMah Medical to expand its orthopedic portfolio in 2018.
2. The device provides surgeons with software solutions for 3D preoperative planning and 3D positioners for intraoperative positioning.
3. Smart Space integrates intraoperative surgical guidance that seeks to simplify shoulder arthroplasty and enhance precision.
4. Smart Space will later roll out to include shoulder, hip and knee arthroplasty.
