San Antonio-based NuHope, an outpatient treatment center focused on reducing patient opioid dependency, appointed Jeff Dunkel as CEO on Jan. 28.
Mr. Dunkel left his role as executive vice president of strategy at Titan Spine to assume the role.
Previously he served as a regional account executive and a health system executive at Johnson & Johnson, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Mr. Dunkel has begun meeting with members of Congress, federal agencies and major commercial payers to spearhead NuHope's efforts in treating and managing opioid issues.
Two population health committees, including one on the opioid crisis, appointed him to an advisory role, where he represented innovative technologies in healthcare at the White House Office of Science and Technology Annual President's Brief.
Health and Human Services recently nominated him to its innovation committee, which aims to facilitate pathways for new technologies to improve outcomes and safety as well as decrease costs.
