Smith+Nephew named a new CFO to oversee the company's finances.
Four things to know:
1. Anne-Francoise Nesmes will become CFO of Smith+Nephew on Aug. 3, 2020. She is currently CFO of Merlin Entertainments, a visitor attraction operator.
2. During her four years at Merlin Entertainments, Ms. Nesmes was a key leader during the company's acquisition by a private equity firm in 2019. She also has experience as a senior executive at GlaxoSmithKline in the United Kingdom.
3. When she joins Smith+Nephew, Ms. Nesmes will also become an executive director of the company's board.
4. Ms. Nesmes succeeds Graham Baker, who is stepping down as CFO on April 30 for a new opportunity. The company's Senior Vice President Group Finance Ian Melling will serve as interim CFO until Ms. Nesmes joins the company.
"Anne-Francoise is an exceptional finance leader who has demonstrated her effectiveness supporting ambitious strategic, investment and efficiency programs in both healthcare and other sectors," said Smith+Nephew CEO Roland Diggelmann. "I am excited that she is joining Smith+Nephew."
