Centinel Spine lumbar disc approved for two-level indications

The FDA approved Centinel Spine's prodisc L lumbar total disc replacement device for two-level indications on April 14.

Three things to know:

1. Jack Zigler, MD, of Plano-based Texas Back Institute, implanted the first two-level prodisc L in 2002.

2. Prodisc L features two cobalt chrome alloy endplates and an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene inlay.

3. Centinel Spine's prodisc portfolio consists of six devices, including an anterior and anterior-lateral approach lumbar disc replacement and four cervical disc replacement implants.
