Johnson & Johnson spinal engineer 3D prints face shields for Pennsylvania healthcare workers

A Johnson & Johnson spinal engineer recently 3D-printed 350 face shields for healthcare workers in Pennsylvania, Chestnut Hill Local reports.

Trans Lualhati, 26, is the lead engineer for Johnson & Johnson's trauma division focusing on orthopedic and spinal medicine.

Mr. Lualhati borrowed four 3D printers from La Salle University in Philadelphia, where he completed his bachelor's degree in integrated science, business and technology, to create the personal protective equipment at home.

He donated the face shields to Philadelphia-based Hospital for the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University Hospital, Abington (Pa.) Hospital–Jefferson Health and a local nursing home.
