Southern California Hospital at Culver City is reportedly the first hospital in Los Angeles County to acquire joimax's technology for endoscopic spine surgery.
The joimax procedure allows spine surgeons to access compressed nerves without cutting or damaging healthy tissue.
The procedure is typically used to treat herniated discs and spinal stenosis.
Advantages of the minimally invasive approach include reduced blood loss and scarring, shortened hospital stays and less pain.
"We want to offer our patient population the latest technology with the best options for spine surgery and quicker recovery," said Michael Klepin, CEO of the hospital.
