Smith+Nephew's Oxinium technology recently surpassed 2 million implantations.
Three things to know:
1. Used in hip and knee replacements, Oxinium is an oxidized zirconium alloy that combines the strength of metal with the wear resistance of ceramic.
2. The technology is reportedly the only medical device material to win the Engineering Achievement Materials Award from ASTM International.
3. Oxinium is featured in several Smith+Nephew hip and knee products, including the Polar3 total hip solution, OR3O dual mobility system and Journey II total knee system.
