Spinal Tech

Spinal implant manufacturer CTL Amedica has received FDA clearance for its Mondrian lumbar interbody fusion cage, according to a Sept. 2 news release.

Four things to know:

1. Mondrian is equipped with the company's TiCro technology, which aims to improve interlocking properties and increase bone ingrowth surface area.

2. The system is indicated for intervertebral body fusion procedures in skeletally mature patients with degenerative disc disease at one or two adjoining levels from L2-S1.

3. Mondrian features a large graft window, radiographic markers, a self-distracting bullet tip, a bi-convex profile and lateral aperture.

4. The system's titanium bullet transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion and posterior lumbar interbody fusion offerings are scheduled for limited release in the fourth quarter.
