PrinterPrezz gets nod for new line of 3D-printed spine devices

Orthopedic device manufacturer PrinterPrezz on Oct. 13 received FDA clearance for its GAIA lumbar interbody fusion device portfolio.

Four things to know:

1. The first implants unveiled in the portfolio include the Astraeus ALIF, Themis TPLIF and Prometheus PLIF.

2. The 3D-printed titanium devices are manufactured using laser powder bed fusion technology.

3. Last year, University of California San Francisco Surgical Innovations partnered with PrinterPrezz to accelerate the development of its implants.

4. PrinterPrezz is working on launching the GAIA portfolio in the U.S. market in the near future.
