Washington D.C.-based Children's National Hospital reportedly performed the first pediatric spine surgery using nView medical's 3D imaging technology, according to a Nov. 30 press release.
Salt Lake City-based nView medical's insta-3D imaging was made specifically for pediatric surgery. It provides 3D images available during surgery quickly and safely.
"Having a technology like this available in the operating room will potentially help make our surgeries even more precise with 3D imaging available quickly," said Matthew Oetgen, MD, who oversaw the first use of the technology. "We anticipate this improved precision will lead to better outcomes and added value to what we do for our patients."
